Tasters.

Cartoon frog with placard stating 'If I can do it so can you!'
Free Internet access and free computer training for everybody aged 50+ in Hackney.
We are ‘Hackney Silver Surfers’ — specialists in guiding older people through the Internet maze. At our friendly computer centre (open weekdays, 10 am – 4.30 pm) you can learn what you need to learn, at your own pace, in your own way, with others like yourself – and get support afterwards, for as long as you need it. And it won’t cost you a penny!
If you are curious about the Internet, or if you have a computer and feel a bit lost, come to our free Internet taster sessions. We will show you all the interesting things you could do, then help you to actually do it.

What is a taster?
A taster is not a course — it’s an introduction to a new topic. We hope that the new learners will be inspired to take it further and sign up for more advanced activities, but we will assume that they come to the tasters out of curiosity as much as anything else. That is what tasters are for.
When do the tasters happen?
- Tuesday afternoon, 1.30 - 4.30 pm.
- Thursday all day, 10.00 - 4.30 pm.
- Friday morning, 10 am - 2 pm.
You can find more information on the About us page. And if you look around this website, you should get a fairly good idea of the scope and scale of our work.
